What is Included in Our All-Inclusive Hunting Package
Your hunting trip covers transportation, meals, and lodging. It does not include the hunting license or deer tags. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game website can give more information about hunting licenses and deer hunting on Kodiak Island.
Our lodge provides both single rooms with a queen and double rooms with two fulls. We have plenty of room to cover your entire hunting party. Your lodging also features a cozy fireplace and common areas where you can discuss the day with other hunters at night.
What to Expect on Your Hunting Trip
You’ll charter from Anchorage directly to the lodge for hunting. There you will get settled in and have dinner with other hunters and fishermen. After a good night’s sleep in a comfortable bed, you will be greeted with coffee and breakfast before heading out to hunt.
Your amazing adventure will be focused on the Sitka black tailed deer. These deer are coming down from the mountains in November and December, and that is when we schedule hunting trips. This makes it more likely that you will bag your own blacktail deer.
You’ll enjoy scenic views and peaceful surroundings while you hunt. You may see a mountain goat or a Kodiak brown bear. When your hunting party has reached its limit on blacktail deer or at the end of the afternoon, you will be transported back to the lodge for a delightful meal where you can recount hunting stories with other hunters.
While the focus of the 6-day and 7-night hunting trip is the Sitka blacktail deer, there are other activities to enjoy at Old Harbor. Once you have reached your limit on deer hunting, there are other types of hunting to enjoy. Big game hunting is allowed on Kodiak Island, and duck hunting is also a favorite pastime.
If you’ve already bagged your deer and still have time left on your hunting trip, you might also want to enjoy some winter fishing. However, unlike in the summer, if you decide to fish, you’ll be responsible for cleaning your fish as we don’t offer the extra services of cleaning and fileting fish in the winter hunting season.
